This web site is dedicated to the study of India's political economy. It is a part of the partnership among University of California, Berkeley, King's College, London and Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai being funded by the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI).

Scholars from various parts of the world, working from different disciplinary perspectives are trying to make sense of India and the changes it has been going through. Our objective is to promote discussion and dialogue among them, and thereby deepen understanding of contemporary India. We organized a workshop at King's College, London in May 2013 and will be organizing a conference at IGIDR in November 2014. Information on these events can be obtained from the links on the left.
