Since 2000, I have been a Professor of Energy and Environment at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai, India. I hold a Ph.D. in Energy Management from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Currently, I teach courses on Energy and Environment for the MSc and M.Phil/Ph.D students. Additionally, I have a great interest in the role that policies play in the development of society, an important topic for economists and engineers.
I was a naturally curious child fortunate to have an inspiring grandma. Equally fortunately, I had a mentor in Professor Amulya K.N.Reddy at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, who inspired me to focus on issues pertaining to Energy and Environment that affect the society every single day. |
My career is my hobby. It gives me a great chance to interact with people much smarter than I am. My other hobbies have continued to change throughout my life. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. When there's time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and discussions with friends. Most of all, I like building capacity in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy technologies by conducting training programmes to various stake holders and delivering lectures to college-going students. Furthermore, my other favorite hobby is travelling, mainly to remote places. |
